No obstante, la tercera entrega no fue escrita por Westwood, la cual se había separado de SSI sobre diferencias artísticas y creó la serie Lands of Lore. There is an unused item in the game called the "stone gem", which would've been used for the teleport locations found throughout the game. This item was later reused for the sequel Eye of the Beholder II: The Legend of Darkmoon, complete with it's original design and how it would've looked in the first game..
